Rock chip repair is primarily a structural solution rather than a cosmetic one, so you may still see the location of the chip after the repair. Once the repair is completed, it includes a lifetime warranty against any further spreading from the original area. If the repaired chip does spread, we will apply the amount paid for the repair toward a full windshield replacement with our company. The primary objective of professional windshield repair is to restore the structural integrity of the glass; the final appearance is not an indicator of repair success. Given the existing damage, there is a small possibility that the chip could spread as resin is injected. In such cases, we cannot guarantee
the windshield. If spreading occurs, we will not charge you or your insurance the full amount for the attempt; however, a nominal fee of $20 will apply to cover the technician’s time and materials used. This fee will be waived if you choose to proceed with a windshield replacement through our company. If you choose to move forward with the repair under these conditions, a waiver must be signed before the technician begins work. Please also note that we do not perform repairs on chips near cameras or sensors on the windshield, chips larger than a quarter, chips in the driver’s line of sight, or more than two chips. Repairs will also be declined if the technician assesses that the windshield’s overall integrity is compromised.
Yes! Small chips, especially those under the size of a quarter, can usually be repaired. We’ll assess the chip first to make sure it’s safe and effective to repair.
A windshield chip repair typically takes about 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the size and location of the chip.
While the repair will strengthen the glass and prevent spreading, there may still be a faint mark where the chip was. However, most customers find it barely noticeable.
Many insurance companies cover windshield chip repairs at no cost. We can help check with your insurer and guide you through the claims process if needed.
